I read all my PPI terms and conditions before I signed up to them. I never claimed on any of them as I never had long term illness or unemployment. Therefore I have never tried to claim back any money (although I did decide to stop all PPI contracts).

My problem was the PPI was nearly double the interest rate in some cases and so the chances of paying off debts were slim.

On the other hand, OH was self employed, doesn't read small print, let the other person tick the box and assumed it meant he was covered for illness etc. He wasn't  However, he has now learned to give documents to me to read before he signs ;)

I'm VERY biased - can't believe people could be so stupid - I'm not saying there weren't bad selling practises but people only see the prize of getting the money/cc/finance, that, at the time, they're more than happy to overlook it.

I've never been pressured, cajoled or bullied in to taking something I don't want and if you're trying to say I work for a newspaper - where'd you get that indication from?

Is an oridinary member of the public not entitled to their opinion of other people's stupidity/greed? Nobody complained about PPI missell when they were having £££££'s paid in to their accounts (my employer did internet loans).

To call an entire group of people 'stupid' is a very narrow minded point of view and only adds to people's determination to reclaim what they have been mis-sold.

Perhaps if banks and financial organisations weren't so pushy with PPI, people would have a chance to read and understand what they entered into.

Those companies that mis-sold weren't fined for no reason.
