sorry about the many posts, I'm also looking for something in city centre for July (this year), but just for a party
ooh, and if you are looking in city centre for something abit different, the science centre looks interesting0 -
near me are
Airth castle and
Glenbervie house
both the same company and both lovely-dont know about their wedding packages though

if exclusivity is what you are looking for Airth Castle (probably Glenbervie operate in the same way) is not the way to go.
We were looking at getting married there and they cant even guarantee they wont have 2 weddings/receptions etc going on at the same time. so chances are you would have to settle for where they put you, when they want you, no choice or privacy.
Unfortunately I dont think I can be too much help other than that because our wedding is much smaller so we are looking at smaller scale venues, but i wish you the best of luck
oh, when you went to Dunblane did they show you the function room downstairs in the 'basement'?? I hated it, and I know a member of my other halfs family who got married there and had their reception in that downstairs, dark, dank room, and not the nice big ballroom style room in the middle of the hotel. be careful with that one if considering it further

Airth Castle also (allegedly) has wonderful view of the refinery - something to bear in mind when thinking picturesque countryside for scenery.
We have stayed in the Radisson hotel linked to Airth castle and the room was big but pretty dated - 70S rather than art deco 20s.:pMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

In response to other posts - Dunblane Hydro is getting totally made over and the downstairs room does look nice.
I am getting married now at Glenbervie and it is lovely. Much better than Airth and it is exclusive and with non moody receptionists and event staff!I miss using my infinite coupons at Tesco!
2010 was the worst year ever
But 2011 so far has been a lot of fun! :j
