Is this right-Vaillant boiler

We have just removed our old heater and got an engineer to fix a combi boiler named Vaillant. He finished installation on Sunday night and said we have to leave it on for 2 days constantly non-stop. Is this right because I’m worried about the gas bill.

Good afternoon: Did he give a reason for this?

Hi
We had a Vaillant combi boiler fitted just over a year ago and they never mentioned leaving it on constantly.
If you really have to leave it on that long and your worried about how much your using, maybe just turn the temperature down so its not working so hard.0 -

Do you switch it off from the mains or just on the boiler. You can't keep a good man down...0 -

I have mine set to ONCE as I have it on most of the day, it comes on at 7.30am and goes off late afternoon, so I never have to actually switch it on or off as it comes on on its own depending on what time ive set it to, if it gets too hot then ill press OVERRIDE and it switches off till its time to come back on in the morning.

about his rather bizarre request. Call him and ask for clarification.

Mine seems relatively easy, I just flap the lid down on the little honeywell box next to my combi boiler and there are instructions on the inside of the lid.
Flick switch on bottom right to SET PROGRAM, using - or + to adjust time for when it comes on, then hit NEXT to set what time it goes off and repeat if you want it to come on later (I can have mine come on and go off up to 3 times a day) then hit DAY to set it all for the following day as mine has individual settings for each day of the week, once ive finished I flick it back on to RUN PROGRAM.
This is how mine works anyway but yours shouldn't be too different to this.0 -
