I'm already the cheapest on ebay for this item! cheeky sod!
If you show weakness there'll never be an end to it... I think a lot are just testing to see if you're desperate, then the offers will get steadily more insulting.
If I haven't put Best Offer on then I'm not open to offers!0 -
LOL... I've had a couple patronisingly going, 'I'm doing you a favour really as you're never going to sell it at that price'. Only for said item to sell shortly after...0

One of the items I sell is listed now as Buy-it-Now with Best offer option. I have noticed that some of the offers are getting more and more ridiculous lately. The same person made 3 seperate offers at 20%, 25% and 30% of the asking price. Given that the item is very reasonably priced as a Buy-it-Now there was no way I would be accepting. I would add that I have sold around 40 of these already so I know what is a good price.0

i have pretty much given up with the best offer option. when you put a buy it now with best offer you rarely get anyone use the buy it now and just get ridiculous offers.
you could put the buy it now price a bit higher than you want, and accept lower offers... but then you could just put buy it now for the price you want and not bother with best offer at all.
so i just use buy it now (but still get people making stupid offers anyway!)0 -
I do sometimes feel like saying, 'I'm sorry, dear, but if you can't afford it you should really be saving the pennies.'
Wish I could find the Etsy thread where someone got an insulting offer at a craft fair and just gave the stupid woman the item for free, sweetly saying it was her 'charitable donation' for the year.0 -
I use buy it now with best offer a lot. I set the buy it now price higher than I want / expect to achive, auto accept any offers at a certain price, auto decline any below my walk away and review any between.
Buyers like a deal so everyone is happy.
Never worked out why people that accept offers complain when they get one.
My best purchase was an offer 44% below the asking price.0
