Hatchback car vibrates over 80

  • On a Nissan i'd guess about £70 per side for wishbones though you may be very lucky and be able to buy bushes, though on an almera i'd doubt it.
  • Is there something specific that causes a wishbone to wear out? Or is it just normal wear and tear? Seems strange on a car which has done only 50k and 8 years old  my last car was 15 years old when I (reluctantly) gave it away for this one, and I never needed anything doing apart from suspension and the odd burnt bulb.

wishbone bushes wear due to normal wear and tyre. naturally the more speed humps etc you encounter the more wear. most car manufacturer go for softer bushes which give a comfortable ride but wear out faster. you could fit a longer lasting bushes made from nylon/ptfe etc but they give a slightly harder ride but improves your cornering.
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

Is there proof of the evidence from speed humps? Our council has recently installed these in our area and we have to go over 4 every time we go out or return home.

I will take action against them if need be. They can't fill in the potholes but they can build massive humps to slow down emergency vehicles, against our wishes. Democracy eh? Load of carp.

Is there a diagram where I can see what exactly the bushes are? I'd like to understand what exactly they are and do.

  • Thanks for that. Much appreciated. If it's just those little things that are the bushes, why so expensive? Would you recommend any place to do it, or could I do it at home, bearing in mind I've never done anything on a car before. :o
