When we have quotes they will normally hold them for a week or so after the end date but you have to ask nicely.
What's the deal on this week please?
You shouldn't have to 'ask nicely', it is standard policy to provide a customer with a written quote - this 'freezes' any current sale prices for 14 days from the date of quotation.
B&Q operate a 'price promise' in that they will match any LIKE FOR LIKE quote AND knock an extra 10% off! This price promise is throughout the store and not just on kitchens and bathrooms.0 -

By having a B&Q fit you get the warranties to go with it. Parts and labour included.0 -
& are you REALLY happy with the plan/layout they've given you?
We had them 'plan' ours, on their in store 3D system, which when used properly, is pretty good.
But the 'designer' had no idea about balance & visual appearence of the finished kitchen & if we'd have gone with it, it'd be a right mess!!
Their price was about £3500ish & similar amount for them to fit.
Ikea was £2200ish & better/more units!!
& you can download the Ikea planner & mess about with it yourself, for free from their website. & a GENUINE 10% in Ikea, currently, I think. Plus their prices are not always fluctuating to create a 'special' deal!!

Be careful with IKEA as their units are not standard! Therefore if you want to update your kitchen in a couple of years by changing door fronts you will be limited to IKEA or custom made doors.
WICKES / B&Q / HOMEBASE all use standard measurements.0 -
Recently had a quote from B&Q for a modest sized kitchen, ie 10' x 11', incorporating Cooke and Lewis white gloss units. It was astronomical.
The fitting charge which was being touted as half price, was £4,600 alone!!!
I could not get through to B&Q personnel when I said that this was in excess of design kitchen installation prices, and there was no way the true cost of fitting could be £9200!!
It is no surprise that their kitchen sales are down over 30% and falling.
I trawled the Web after this quote and found that there was extreme dissatisfaction with B&Q kitchens, particularly the installation. Just Google B&Q kitchen installation and you will see.
Following this experience I intensely dislike B&Q. I believe that they are just rip off merchants.
I wish there were decent alternative DIY stores in our area. I would never go near them again.
I am still in the market for a good kitchen. Who would you recommend?0 -
