Parking fine for parking on disabled bay without badge

Brother took my disabled sister to a store in a retail park. She has a blue badge and for some reason failed to display it when they parked in a disabled bay. When they came back from the store they found a £75 parking fine.
Is there anything they can do? I know they should have displayed the badge. His car is not registered disable so the road tax class is PLG.
Heard that you can ignore such fines from retail parks.

It doesnt matter if the car is not registered the blue badge is for the holder even if they don't own the car0

A private car park? Forget about it, and ignore any correspondence.0

Agreed, they can do nothing.0 -
It's not a fine, only Police and Councils can issue fines. It's an invoice for parking. £75 for an hrs parking, rip off....ignore it and let them chase for it!!!'' A man who defends himself, has a fool for a client''0

OP, to add to what everyone else has said, there is no obligation to display a blue badge in a private car park.0

What a horrible attitude any decent person would want to display their badge and anyone without one should pay the fine. Its not ok to park in a disabled bay without a badge private car park or not.
The OP should appeal on the grounds that there badge was there just not visable and be grateful the company is trying to stop the abuse of these important spaces.Barclaycard 3800

Broken hearted - it's not a fine. It's an unenforceable invoice.
And it's a very naive attitude to believe the private parking company is trying to stamp out the abuse of parking spaces. If that were the case, wouldn't they just patrol the car parks, and ask people to move? And remind them of their duty not to abuse the privilege?
They are a private company in the business of making money. They WANT people to park "incorrectly", so that they can invoice them and scam them of their money.0 -
Yeah I have the strong feeling any appeal will involve sending the fine, and even *having* a blue badge that wasn't displayed won't make any difference and you'd have paid the fine and they'd be keeping it.
As everyone else says ignore it. At least you know you're morally in the right at the end of the day and wasn't a lazy sod :A0 -
Cos politely asking people to move works so well.:rolleyes:Barclaycard 3800

Ignore this poor advice, and as already posted, completely ignore the "fine" and any subsequent correspondence you get.0
