Oh...I applied and received my router a few weeks ago now, have just received the bill and have been charged £40 for it:eek:
I've rang VM and have been told that I should of read the small print and that as an existing customer already on the L broadband package I was not entitled to it free..was offered a £15 reduction on price but that's all. I have now been given a freepost address to return it to but might try calling again later...any advice on what to say to try and get it free would be greatly appreciated.0 -
Just a quick update to let you know that after calling back again this evening I was told they had a no returns policy on the routers and that due to the misinformation I would be getting a £40 credit on the account and asked to dispose of the router in a responsible manner...all is forgiven VM :j0

Hello spoke to a lady in an indian call centre 30 mins ago and she told me i will be charged £40 for the router as i hadn't sent it back within 7 days, I've been on holiday for 2 weeks and got back this morning and told the lady I was under the impression that it was free. She told me it wasn't and I can't send it back and will have to pay. HELPMortgage was £144,308.70 (12.1.10)

I'd keep calling (dialling 150 so you don't get charged!) until you get through to an English call centre, they were more than understanding when I spoke to them.0

Does anyone have a screen print of the original offer, i ordered one that was meant to be free but have been charged £40 for it. I have sent several emails but as yet am having no joy, they are refusing to let me send it back and credit me for it. Can anyone help? Pretty please.....0

Probably the wrong place, but I'm a newbie and wanted to share this but don't know where (or how) to put it!
...had an interesting call with VM this week. I get very fed up seeing all there special offers for new customers paying loads less than me so phoned up for a moan and to downgrade services in a money saving attempt.
Was put through to a chap who told me they had a loyalty scheme for long standing customers. I've got phone, large tv & xl broadband & he instantly knocked £18-50 per month off my bill for the same service pack!!! had to start a new 12 month contract but who cares!
RESULT!
Worth a free call to 150!I have always relied on the kindness of strangers0
