Do you have anything to sell on ebay or at a carboot? You haven't included anything for groceries, council tax, gas, electricity, water, insurance, tv licence. Oops re-read your post, however, you still need to include something for groceries.0

So is the £400 mortgage or bills? if not then you need to add the £400 for bills in there somewhere...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Ok looking at your outgoings and income - I hate to sound insensitive, but we need to know how these debts accumulated... is it holidays, shopping sprees, gambling? This is really important and isn't just us being nosey I promise

£400 goes into the joint account for all household bills (not food)
I overspent, ran up a credit card bill, got a new car, lived outside my means for a few "Single" years, then couldn't afford the credit card bills and new car, consolidated my loan for the car and credit cards, then it just spiraled out of control, we bought a house, we got married, etc, etc it just all mounted up!! I am so angry with myself, for getting into this mess!! : (0 -
I know this is my own fault, I have no one else to blame, I lived outside my means...... I am so down about it, I thought I had had it sorted with the DMP, but Payplan never said that OH's credit rating would be affected.....I did tell them we had a joint account! This is what is really worrying me!0

LOL I dunno about clever stuntman but I'll try

OK credit ratings - so long as you have joint financial products then if your credit rating dips... his will to a certain degree too. The good news I guess is that if you close that account and put it in HIS name and don't have any other financial products then his rating won't be affected. And at any point if you cease having financial joint products then the two files can be disassociated
So... yes... there is every chance your OHs credit rating will be affected - but it will only be so for as long as the two of you have joint products so it's not permanent damage...
You really need to tell him what is going on - I know it's scary and horrible but if he's as wonderful as you say then whilst he might be mad initially then presenting him with a solution instead of a problem he will probably not react anywhere near as bad as you think
And by telling him NOW you can close of any joint financial products now and his file should be "intact"... assuming the mortgage is in only his name? DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Well I'd bet that as well as looking at DMP you might want to think about looking at reclaiming CC charges and PPI
You might want to check those boards?
Do you have anything you could Ebay?
Can you increase your income?
Hun - he's going to notice eventually... it honestly will be better coming from you...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Yes, the mortgage is just in his name!! I know I have to tell him, but I would really like to have this sorted before I do tell him what I fine mess I am in!!! I really thought I had this sorted, but considering I have not missed any payments (well up until this last month whilst entering the DMP) I had been keeping up with the payments.
So, do I continue with the DMP, or try and solve this with my creditors first? try and keep my credit rating intacted?0 -
I know I have to tell him!! I know that now, but I need to get it straight in my head first.
I have lots of things to go on ebay, and I also make jewellery and cards, so they are going to be going on ebay, so hopefully that will generate a little bit of extra money...0
