Hi,
I'm new to this, so please bear with me. I applied for a Capital One card in December 2004, and was accepted. This was great for me as I have bad credit and wanted something to improve my rating. Has anyone had any experience of this actually improving your rating as I have applied for another couple of cards lately and have been rejected. Also, Capital One 'upgraded' my card to My Photocard account (or Premier) and I cannot find any info about this one their website or anyone elses.... What is this account??? Any help??????

I got upgraded to a Premier card 3 years ago, and had to pay a fee for this, got a credit limit increase as well, but no increase since, it's just a gloryfied classic card really. The one good thing is that it paved the way for me to get decent cards.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0

it is still keeps the have apr even tho its a premiere ac which according to there website has a lower apr that the standard. I switched to the barclaycard intial, which gave me a £2k creditlimit rarther than 1k with capital one. just waiting for2 defaults to drop off soon and Ill retry elsewhere.0

Capital One upped the ARP in November for the premier card from 19% to 27%, well they did in my case, I had a zero balance and still do, if I use the card I pay it off by the due date and dont pay interest. My one complaint with this card is that they Capital One dont give you higher limits even after years of being a good customer and dont drop the ARP......still if you pay it off the interest rate is not a problem.Aiming to be debt free....but still off target0

So basically I will die of old age before they increase the credit limit.... How long did it take before it paved they way for other decent low APR cards?0

You need to build up a record for at least 6 months and then keep going from there. As well as the bad credit you mentioned, other companies may reject you due to the searches - if you applied for another after the Capital One, and then another after that rejection, the number of 'quick searches' has piled up and you will be treated with even more suspicion.0

My Photocard is a premier account as far as I am aware, however it allows you to chose any picture you like and have this as the design on your credit card.
If your not sure, give them a call on 0800 952 51 50 and they should be able to advise! It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice0
