£2 sandwich meal deal at M&S

  • I nearly went for the £2 sandwich deal today until I saw the state of the sandwiches....which were terrible and certainly not up to M&S's normal standard (cheap bread, hardly any filling). It's a bit of a con from a quality point of view.

I've had both of the pasta dishes and I prefer the crumbled sausage one but some of my colleagues prefer the bacon one. Worth trying out both while they are in the offer I think.

I ended up picking a salmon and cucumber sandwich and to be honest I wasn't impressed and wouldn't get it again - tasted vinegary to me - I'd have preferred to have got a Boots meal deal - their sanwiches taste better. I might try the pasta's while they are offer..

Unfortunately I didn't look too closely before buying. Got a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich.

Tasteless - definitely not up to M&S normal standard!
  • i agree with the op's, definately not up to scratch, but still handmade crisps were nice

To whoever asked - this offer IS available at stations! Had them from Waterloo and London Bridge in the last week.

Personally, I like the sandwiches - M&S prawn mayo has always been a favourite of mine, and the cheese and onion I am munching through in between typing this is very nice!

It's a very good deal, IMO, especially in London as the Boots meal deals are £3.49!

I've tried the free range egg mayo and for a £1 it's fine!

In a few selected stores there is a jam sandwich which is priced at just 75p!:j

    JUST???

    FIFTEEN SHIILLINGS??????????
    for a JAM sandwich?
    A jam SANDWICH???

At the risk of sounding like Peter Kay's dad I have to say it again...

    fifteen?

    shillings?????

Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!

How can I find out what's included? Went in at lunchtime and asked an SA but she just said it was what was in the fridge under the meal deal sign on the end of an aisle, a few sandwiches and drinks but no crisps or pasta and she had no leaflets or further info.

Boots meal deal often includes 2 drinks (bogof) and at the moment is including a box of 3 cream eggs as one snack item. Plus they do buy 5 in a month get the 6th one free, still works out at £2.49 per lunch instead of £2 though. I usualy get a "free" lunch from boots by paying with bonus points from offers on other items I'd have bought anyway - see the boots thread.

    Thank you.

I saw something about the cream eggs with meal deal but I thought it was someone making up their £5 spend to get one of the beauty vouchers, LOL.

Bought a couple of these whilst out shopping last week with my son and if I had known they were on would have grabbed some instead of the crisps.

Does anyone know how long this is on for please?
