Help / Advice Re: Cancelling Virgin Media Contract

I have recently moved house and prior to moving I contacted Virgin Media to see if I would incurr any additional cancellation charges if I didn't continue using their telephone, tv and broadband services.
I was told on 2 occasions by 2 seperate customer services reps that I would not have to pay any charges.
However today I have received a bill of £120 for cancellation charges. I have phoned them to speak about the charges and they say I am liable for them and have to pay them otherwise they will take me to court.
I have told them to refer to the 2 seperate phone calls that I had with them previously saying that no charges would be made and to listen to the telephone recordings of the calls but they say that the calls weren't recorded, I also explained that I would have stayed with them if I had to pay any charges but they just insisted that I had to pay the charges regardless.
Any advice on the above would be appreciated.

If you've passed 12 months I wouldn't have thought you'd have to pay anything.
If they are going to charge you then tell them you'll still carry on with the services if you get further problems I'd phone trading standards, they helped my friend who was in a similar situation and they told het to quote something, she did and they backed down. She's on holiday at the moment so I can't ask her what she said.Kind Regards
