where can I find close to affordable insurance for new driver?

I bit the bullet with my daughter and insured her on her own policy from the day she got her provisional and her Fiat Panda. Seemed like the most cost effective option in the long run £800 year one.
Needless to say my son is now 17 and I have passed the buck onto his mother to deal with (far too bloody expensive for me).

A simple answer to many people here...make your kids save up and buy, and more importantly, insure their own cars with their own money.0

We did our daughter's through Tesco as they were the cheapest, but not sure if that's just for girls.0

The car my son was interested in has been sold already but at least he now knows he is looking for a 206.In the meantime I will keep helping him look for a decent affordable insurer and he can keep saving up more money to pay for it up front as at the moment he will not have the full years insurance left over after buying the car."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

How much difference does having the car garaged make to the premiums?I can apply to rent a garage at the end of our street from the council for about £12 a week, would the difference in premiums make it worthwhile do you think?"Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
