Any of the ladies out there have any suggestions for type of perfume to buy? Girlfriend wants some apparently but I'm completely clueless about what to get...0
-
Thats not an easy question to answer - perfume is pretty personnel thing and they smell different on different people - know it sounds silly but really they do. Do you know what she wears already?
My boyfriend bought me the new one from Gucci in a big pink box - cant remember the name but pink always good! Its lovely but he wisley took advantage of duty free whilst abroad! Money saving is clearly rubbing off! You can try Fragrancebay.com for offer as well - they have got John Paul Gaultier Fragile at the moment on offer but this is quite strong distinctive smell so if you are not sure might be best to give it a miss.0 -
Bit off topic this but on the subject of perfume... please can I ask all money savers to apply it sparingly. Not only will this save money
but it will also help people like me who are allergic to perfume! So many times I've sat near to people (of both sexes) on trains, planes, at the cinema, in restaurants etc who smelt like they'd bathed in the stuff. NOT very romantic for my other half to have me come home with puffy, streaming eyes, an asthma attack and a pounding head...
Thank you!0 -
Me and my hubby spend £10 each on anniversaries and valentines day but the presents are to be £4, £3, £2 and £1.
It's amazing what you can find for those amounts when looking!0 -
for valentines i got my gf a few pressies but the main thing i did was make a four poster bed. (poo'd my pants though as after i got the stuff she saw one in a mag and said she hated them) still it all turned out brilliant in the end and was 'super cheap'.
what i used--
-carpet tubing (need a big car) costFREE-bits of wood, couple of pounds£1-3-material. this was the expensive thing but if you shop round you can save loads. As it only dangling from the top if you measure the out side of the bed that approx how much you need (approx 6m length for a king size)UP TO YOUi used a pale blue see through stuff (bloke discription ' it was like gauze/mozzie net' ;D) Shes kept the material to reuse SO 2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1
It took a couple of hours to make (tubing for the posts, wood for across the top for stability and the material to go round the top) but the look on her face was so worth it. ;D
As a bonus it stayed up for about two months (only took it down as family was coming round).
(to much blue peter when i was younger ::))Nice to save.0 -
May not be a "cheap" gift, but First Editions of a loved ones fav book always goes down well. Shows you know what the fav book is, and have gone to the trouble of finding it.
Advanced Book Exchange is a great source for second hand books.

halloweenqueen wrote:Go into Tesco at about 8pm and look at the flowers! I bought one of their finest range bouquets usually selling at £12.50 for 40p and a another £7.50 one for 40p, if I had gone in for them half and hour earlier I could have (wouldn't have!) paid full price.
Volunteer to go and get a few bits from the shop, get all the reduced bargains and cap it with the flowers, don't forget to take off the big yellow reduced sticker!! ::)
if you take your flowers to customer services they will rewrap them for you free of charge so you dont have to worry about any reduced price stickers.0 -
Why not buy a packet of jelly, wrap it up along with card that says something like "This is what you do to me", "My knees turn to this when you're around" or something similar.
I did and it got a good reaction!0
