My old phone allowed me to phone a number without limit (save I had to top up with £15 every 2 months). Phillips say they cannot repair the phone again as it is too old. 02 offer a free phone (Nokia 1101) and a limit of 500 free best friend minutes a month providing I top up £10 every 40 days. I went to a major retailer and the guy in the shop tried changing the SIM card to another phone as I told him I wanted to keep the deal and number I have. When it could not be done he asked more details and advised I try to get it fixed as this deal was sought after by taxi firms etc and they changed hands on auction sites for a lot of money. Was he pulling my leg? ..... Is the offer the only one to get since I do not know where to get the old phone repaired.

My father in law has the same phone and deal but it is pointless getting it repaired as the SIM and phone will no longer work after 31st May. O2 are pulling the plug.

It is aphillips Savvy, recently repaired (*about a year ago!). It has achieved a status in the household in that the children think it is so old and dated - makes me play up to it a bit!

I have read the thread and accept the inevitable!

    Many thanks
  • No shortage of Philip Savvys on Ebay...Even I have a couple on Orange both working fine except that the batteries don't last very long...I've been keeping them to trade in for the £10 quid you usually seem to get.
