I would not expect to see a shower switch or fuse on the arrangement you've posted, it will probably be on a separate switch close to your fuse box. the ring mains are for power to your sockets, so ring main downstairs is for the downstairs sockets and so on. the basic house should have 4 circuits.
Ring main downstairs, ring main upstairs, lights downstairs, lights upstairs.
I'm just trying to give you a feel for how things work with leccy.
If you've got an electric oven that will be on a separate switch, and with a shower that will be on it's own switch.
Beware though don't start taking things apart or stick screwdrivers in electrical things.Did'nt have clue about BR

When you said change the fuse am I correct in thinking it was a cartridge fuse i.e. similar to a fuse in a 13A plug. If so the shower fuse has blown as well. It should be either 32A or 40A0
