Speed seminar offer relocation

Options
Hello to all,
I have recently been caught doing 36 in a 30 zone, (i'know)
they have offered the speed seminar, I have asked if they could relocate me to a nearer seminar district, they have said that this is not possible,

I'm not sure if this is true!
I will have to travel 470miles round trip to do this, surely they could relocate me. It's rediculus, i thought the government was trying to reduce its carbon footprint by 90% by 2050.

I'll probabily have to take a day off work but do do that milage in one day including a 4 hour seminar about road safety, is not putting a safe person on the road.

Does anyone know if i can relocate, or if not how i would apeal without going to court?

many thanks to all that have read my moan..

regards

Take the points and pay the fine, you don't have to do the course.

These speed awareness courses will be offered by that particular camera safety partnership and will be non transferable.

They are actually quite interesting and you don't have to report it to your insurers.

Only you know whether it is worth the days trip.

As Hintza says they are organised locally and not available all over the country.

If it is in a nice area, perhaps make it a couple of days break away and make something positive out of it: I'd rather do that than have the points on my licence, and have to tell my insurers about it so they can hike the premium.

  • the course is up in humberside, i'm in hampshire, My dad had to go on one that was less than 50 miles away, when you compare 50-100 with 470miles you can probabily understand why they should be able to send me to the nearest one.

Maybe, but the fact is you have to go to where the offence was committed and that's that.

North Yorkshire is very nice and not too far away.

If you killed a man in France would you expect to be tried in England?

A couple who killed a bloke in Pakistan were recently tried in the UK. (Just as an aside - completely irrelevant, I appreciate.)

How about a short break to Beverley? My friend used to live there and from what she says, it is a local beauty spot and attracts tourists.

  • hi, i had the same problem, but i ended up in dorset from the north west. I already hd 6 points on my license so decided to take the course. The courses are organised by the Police force , some have joined an organisation providing courses more locally but others havent. I did what someone else suggested and had a good few days away with the family. If you dont have any points i wouldnt bother going as i dont think my insurance went up much.

    good luck
