Morning everyone
Confession time..... I have taken a couple of days off sick from work ... I am feeling pretty low (again). This has been happening quite regularly and I have always blamed it on the next thing that was due to happen....finding my BR fees, the BR day, OR interview but they are all over and done with now so why do I feel like this?
I think it was a blow this week when I had carefully budgetted through the month and had a bit left over, and then wham bang, all gone with a new exhaust needed on the car taking most of the money I had for food as well.
Luckily payday is on Friday.
It has bought home the reality of cash budgetting and living without credit. It is no bad thing, quite the reverse, but it has been my safety net for so long. This week has felt just like the nasty days before BR was even a thought in my head.
I worry now what I will do if the car needs a bigger repair at some stage in the coming months.
Other things are good, I am going away for the weekend, creditors have been pretty quiet, I have been refunded the bank charges charged to my account for an incorrect direct debit. But when you are down you don't put things in perspective and it all becomes a bit lop sided! Perhaps a change of scenery will do me good, I hope so.
Provident have rung this morning and I have stayed on the line until I spoke to a manager and made him take all the BR details down and delete my numbers off their database. That will be a relief, I have been getting daily phone calls.
So no big news, just a steady trickle of little things that all add up ... I know many of you get these feelings from time to time .... Looking forward to feeling happier ....
A long walk in the fresh air today, I think, blow some cobwebs away!
Hugs everyone,

Hi SA
Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down hopefully the weekend away will perk you up and look on the bright side at least you had the money to get the exhaust done and did not have to borrow
Try not to think of the" what ifs" . Fatal for us BR's (and soon to be BR's)
Hope you have a great weekend away
Take care

Good Morning everyone,
Not too much to report. I went back to work yesterday and it was fine. People noticed that I was a little subdued. Unfortunately when people show any concern I tend to get weepy, so I dread it! But the day passed OK and I only have to work today and then it is 5 days off.... hooray! An added bonus is that it is payday today, thank heavens, I am not quite sure how I got through the last 4 days, skint was not the word! But I didn't borrow anything and I am alive and well and have money in the bank again! :T It has made me realise that I must have an emergency fund just to cover the things that can and do happen without warning.
I think part of the reason why I felt so low this week was that it felt like the months and years when I had nothing, all over again, doom and gloom. Luckily, only very briefly and no creditor phone calls either.
Tomorrow I am going "darn sarf" to see my family which will be nice. I am the only one left living in the North and it can feel quite lonely sometimes. It was different when I was making regular trips abroad and speaking on the phone daily but, like my debts, I have left all that behind ..... New Year, New Start. It should be a good weekend and with the "train taking the strain" I can relax as well.
Work is getting busier and I am being asked to work overtime (after being told that an overtime ban would be introduced in January) - I know how many hours I can work to keep me under the IPA limit, after that it will be for time in lieu IF I do any.... certainly not going to flog myself like I have in the past.
I have got notice of my rent increase from 1st April - £7 a week and I am expecting the council tax notification shortly. I am pleased that I planned for the increases in my OR interview and that they have been approved in advance. It could well add up to £40 - £50 a month.
Have a good weekend everyone, sorry if you have to work, and enjoy if you don't .....

Hi SA.
I've missed this thread over the last few days....
Sorry you are down. There's nothing like struggling to find a couple of quid for food to make you feel wretched. I have to say that I have had to use annual leave before now just to remove the extra expense of petrol and food for work for a week before payday.
Hope going darn sarf gives you a decent break. It's warmer down here apparently. I noticed that we are a couple of weeks ahead with Spring compared to Leeds, so enjoy the crocusses and snowdrops. Daffs not flowering yet, but they are close.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Thanks Jim,
One of the reasons I went sick on Monday and Tuesday was to cut down on fuel and food ..... pain in the butt!
I am really looking forward to getting away, it has been a long time since I was "back home"....

Hi SA

Hi everyone,
Back from a super long weekend break visiting family in the South.... tugged at the heartstrings a bit for lots of reasons.. it was my first time back "home" for about 15 years and it was quite nostalgic.
I was treated all the way, big Chinese takeaway, horseriding, pub lunch and 2 super bottles of red wine ... all for meI have offered to go down and dog sit my daughter's labrador when they go away in July - a free holiday for me and saves the kennel bill for her.
I got back home yesterday afternoon to the really sad news about Namaste Deedee ... she was one of my heroines of the board, helpful and yet straight talking ... just what I needed at the beginning of my journey. When you lack confidence it is so good to have the marvellous help and support that this board offers and she was one of the lynch pins. May she rest in peace now and a huge thanks to dalip for finding out and providing us with the thread on which to express our condolences. Another of the forum lynch pins..
A final day off for me before heading back to work tomorrow. Very little to do apart from my little luxury of a horse riding lesson (thank God for payday last Friday) so I shall be catching up on my Sky+ and the posts that I have missed on here - about 12 pages worth!
I only had 2 letters waiting for me, both from the Abbey, they just don't give up. But a pleasant surprise anyway, and a world away from the heap of brown envelopes that used to be waiting for me.
I still haven't heard what next years council tax bill is going to be, the d/d for my rent has increased by £25 a month to account for the annual rise - a bit more overtime looks on the cards!
I hope all my buddies old and new are well and I look forward to catching up with all your posts.
Hugs to you all
