Don't be surprised if they use any sign on civil unrest to invoke the powers they have given themselves to make up new legislation 'on the hoof' to show the electorate who is in charge.

It's f u c k e d. The main choice is who to default on.
Default on pensioners and you wont be in power for 2 generations (like the Democrats passing Civil Rights legislation and losing the South for 40+ years in the US).
Default on external debt and you destroy the UK as a trading nation perhaps forever at which point the wool pack goes from a symbol of strength to a symbol of why you guys should never vote Labour ever again despite all the previous warnings.
Don't vote for Socialists. They're useless and will keep trying to bankrupt you each time you give them the chance.

If I were a betting man I would say a new government would;
Have an Inflationary run on the pound to devalue debt.
Introduce (eventual) higher taxes to bring annual deficit under control.
Continue to 'massage' inflation figures to devalue/decrease public wages and final salary pensions in real terms.0 -
Oor Gordon is the greatest thing that ever happened for Alex Salmond

Here's a thing Generali. I respect you as a pretty balanced and decent sort of person on here, lots of useful information and a few jokes - all good stuff. Very rarely in rant mode against anyone or anything. But when it comes to Labour / Brown / Socialists you seem to go off into PickledPink mode.The impact of these boring old Socialists might wake you up, sad to say.
Just an observation.0 -
I think, If Jeremy Paxman were to ask Gordon Brown if he is ready to drink hemlock yet, Gordon would ask for a double.0
