Exhausted now - I've done an hour in the garden and my back is aching - very unusual - maybe it is due to the exercise classes this week - just going to stretch it out and then I think I'll make some scones.
It is sad about Wendy Richards - I loved her in 'Are you being served'.
Soappie funding vibes coming your way and hope all goes well at the vet.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Thanks everyone again for your thoughts and hugs. Much needed. I know that as soon as we go to the hosp she'll be repeating "not blood test, not blood test Mummy " And it'll make me feel so sad for her. I'm really glad OH's coming. I know it will make a difference.
He's been making such a huge effort, it's been really good being around him... it hasn't been like that for ages. (secretly hoping things may change)

Also counting backwards, maybe from 20 (100 for adults) is a great way of distracting the mind. Silk stuff I've used Patra (online) before, not cheap but does last.
Thanks for that idea Dusty, and I'll have a check on Patra later on.SS I hope all turns out ok and your little one calms down, maybe suggest a treat to her once the tests have been done, if she is a good girl? such as the park or she gets to pick tea/ dinner tonight for you all/ fav book to be read to her at bed time/ small toy or similar bought for her. (I know I don't have kids so please don't all yell at me if my suggestions are way off the mark)
I wouldn't yell at you!!!I really appreciate your suggestions. We'll suggest fries in a box... she LOVES!! that.
I've had an hour and a half with the SENCO at school this morning, ( head hurts now) walked the pooch, had my Dad and Stepmum over for coffee.... The day is almost over! Blimey, I could do with a kip!!
OH!!!!! BTW!!! I got an interview for next week for the job I was slaving over the app forms for. :j :j :j It's the first application I've filled in for over 17years!!!!!!
Diva I'm sorry to hear that Tris is losing awareness. It must be so very hard for you, and his family. I wish for the best outcome for him. And warmth and comfort for you. (((hugs)))MMSSB Club Founder Member

Mum and Dad bringing DD2 home at about 4.30 then staying for tea and babysitting while I work and DH goes to the Man City game.
SarahShattered...sorry to hear about your DD. One of the mums from our school is waiting to hear if her son has it too and I know how upset she is by it all. ((((hugs)))). I also think Bach flower remedies are brilliant. Might be worth a try if she is anxious about all the messing about with her at the hospital.
School time now. Bye!0 -
PenPen I took a digital photo of the keys (close enough to see them) took them all off. Washed in washing up liquid with a toothbrush and then replaced them all.
Made Victoria Sandwich in the end as I have lots of eggs and not much milk.
Off to school run now.

Hugs to Tristan and Diva - it must be hard to be so far away at such a time Diva.
Am now waiting for the garage to ring about OH's car - have managed to negotiate a slight reduction in the bill but it will still be about £650:eek: While we were in the vicinity when we dropped the car off we had a look at the Jaguar garage - I love going there, the lads who sell the cars don't mind if you are just going to drool.:D My old car is nearly 14 so i'd love to be able to afford to replace it, but we have to put OH's first with him having to travel so much to work at the moment.
Off to S&S the kitchen before it becomes a tip again.......0 -
Im sorry - I know that its not relevant to this thread but Ive been reading all about the challenges and think that the grocery challenge would be a great idea for me ( I think I spend about £320 a month or £80 pw - theres only 1 adult and 1 child) - what am I buying!!!
But I cannot find the thread for this anywhere, and this thread is my safe haven on this site (it can be a bit scary out there tbh!!) and Ive noticed a few of you have mentioned the Grocery Challenge on your signatures. Can one of you tell me where to find it please??
Thanks x x
ETA: Just ignore me again - another stupid question!! Ive just realised its a sticky........was looking amongst the threads (for ages!) grrrrr........

I am feeling really proud of myself - I have downloaded (thankyou sparklebox) the 1st 100 words cut them out individually and mounted on card (I keep a small stash of school card here for making resources) ready to be laminated as we have a poor reader who needs them. They are going to look professional (I hope) as opposed to being written on odd bits of card ... so if they look important and neat maybe he will be motivated. I have a TA for admin Monday first thing so she should be able to get them laminated and cut in that time - I hope - if I can persuade her to start cutting as soon as the first card is laminated.and not sit and wait for the laminating to be done before cutting commences.... might even laminate before school:cool: if I have time.

Jo do you mean this one http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1449317&highlight=grocery
If you look toward the top on the right hand side, you will see a small long box, with enter your search text here, and next to it are main or forum, I put grocery in the long box and clicked on forum, but there one or 2 other threads which may be of interest.
The main thing is to write down every thing you spend money on food wise this week and keep a list of all the meals you have eaten, Bfk, lunch, boxes, diner, in between times, this at least will tell you where it is all going.
