Hello again-
aliEnRIK- thanks soooo much for all your brilliant help.
We've got the norton anti virus activated (finally), but we still have a blank screen on top of the wallpaper- i think this is still the spyware protect page, that windows keeps wanting us to deal with.
We've tried hitting the f8 key (have been all afternoon!), but no movement.
Norton says it's aware of this spyware protect thing, and has told us a few times that it has dealt with it, but it obviously hasn't.
We still haven't downloaded the 3 other things that you suggested...will get round to it asap, but, do you think it will help if we do this immediately?
Or is this something different altogether......???
Thank you so much, you very clever person indeed, you!

If you still cant (Which you should be able to), try resetting internet explorer ~- Open Internet Explorer 7.
- Click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Under Reset Internet Explorer Settings, click Reset.
