I want to apply for a current account and for the ID purposes it states that I can provide:
A letter from HM Revenue & Customs that shows your National Insurance number (this letter must be less than 12 months old and cannot be a P45, P60 or P11D)
What form would I need?

"A letter from HM Revenue & Customs that shows your National Insurance number " !!
Sorry - from time to time the revenue write to people to tell them for example, their tax code. the letter will use your NI number as a reference. This is what they mean.0 -

Is this a specific request? Normally you are given two lists, one of ways of proving your identity, the other documents which prove where you live.
They certainly can't assume that everyone has a letter from HMRC containing your NINO within the last year although most taxpayers will have received one.
Can you post the full list?0 -
You could certainly write to your tax office requesting confirmation of your tax code & they'd probobly write back.0

You need your P2 Notice of Coding, or HMRC statement of earnings.
SATR is usually also ok if you are self employed.
You should really check with the place you are opening the account with though, as different banks allow different documents to others.0 -
@minimike2 Really?
The bank I opened the Cash ISA with was quite happy to accept my NI Card.
Still... when I opened my current accounts in the past, they never asked for the NI numbers. I was like, "huh?" at The MoneySavingKid's post.
Still, posting the full list should help.0
