Driving in France

I've been to the Alps 3 times in the last 2 years in a car. It's no big deal really and a lot of fun.
Best time so far was leaving near lake Geneva at 4pm and arriving at ferry at 1am. So that's like 9 hours.
It's more fun to break it in half, then it's just 2 x 4.5 hour trips.
The French have a different (better) attitude to overtaking. If you are in the left hand lane (overtaking) and getting on with it then they are fine. If you do the dawdling 0.05mph faster than the vehicle that you are overtaking thing they will sit on your bumper and try to force you out of the way. So just get on with things, don't dawdle around like the English do.Happy chappy0 -
