Where do i stand?

Just been told that i may be having my hours at work reduced, only by 4 hours but worried about the effect it may have on benefits.

I work part time 16 hours, they may reduce down to 12.
Partner works full time.
Received WFTC and CTC.

Would i be entitled to anything else or would i lose anything?

Thanks in advance!

  • It should have not affect on your benefits, you may get slightly more if you are earning less. You would not be entitled to any other benefits unless you are earning really low incomes.
  • Hi again,

    Thanks for your reply alwaysonthgo!

I earn a measly 6.02 per hour and OH earns 19,500 per year, does that mean we are low income?

  • I thought if you worked under 16 hours then you were not entitled to working tax credits?
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

That is a good joint salary so wouldn't be classed as a low income. You just need to look at cutting back on your spending good luck!

  • Actually thinking about it your income seems too high for you to get wtc, are you sure you are getting them, unless you were earning less last year?
