Silly man. The money is not for you, it's for his children (why do some men simply not get that?)

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

    Hi,

I'm nearly finished my degree and just wanted to add that if your ex chooses not to help with your son's costs, there is help available in the form of loans, grants and individual bursaries, depending on your income. My parents would have loved to help me moneywise at uni, but weren't able to so although its a struggle, many of us students manage just fine!

Having a part-time job is pretty much essential if you want to maintain a decent social throughout uni, but managing to live within my means has been a valuable life lesson.
