Cotswald Furniture at Halfcost

I feel for you Wonderbetty -I really do. Are we the only two having problems?
I got rid of my old bookcase (Ive ordered the Silwood bookcase and side table) two weeks ago on Freecycle as I thought my new one was coming. Got all my books piled up in a heap in my living room. Not good when your husband is a book addict and you have two children under five!
Will email then first thing. Might also try phoning after 3pm...do you think I would get through to the 'team' dealing with the Cotswold furniture then or would it take the same process of phoning back? (yawn!)
Thanks for your advice -albeit based on your own bad experience.0 -
I am so cross, I just emailed them again anyway.
It can't be that hard to deliver to brighton?0 -

Sorry to hear they've not been delivered yet. Mine took over 2 weeks, then an extra couple of days. They tried to deliver and I was out so when I phoned they said they wouldnt be back until the Friday. Very pleased with the furniture though.0

Yipee!!!!
No, I don't have the TV unit yet but I did have a phone call from the courier (TNT) to arrange delivery tomorrow.......! I just wonder whether it was TNT who lost it or infact Halfcost?
Anyhow, if you ordered 2 days after me I'm sure you must be getting a phone call about thursday and maybe a delivery by friday???? Here's hoping!
Email them anyway. I told them last night that it wasn't my fault and I have done nothing wrong to deserve the delay so could they just send me another one while I'm waiting for the paperwork. Haven't had a reply just yet, but as long as I get it at the price I paid then I'll be happy. I'll let you know!0 -
Is the system always a phone call from the courier the day before delivery? Roughly how long after the 'expect delivery in 2 to 3 days' email did you get the call?0

Ok, this seems to be the problem - I finally got some answers yesterday.
If you are ordering furniture, ignore the 2-3 days email. Its not been changed from the generic email that comes out when you order regular items from Halfcost.
Large items take up to 14 working days for delivery - hence finally Wonderbetty should be getting her TV unit today and I should be (fingers crossed) getting a phonecall tomorrow!
Halfcost admitted to me that they should of actually despatched the furniture faster than they did and are looking into why (by the by for me really)
I order on the 18th Feb and it took until 2nd March to be despatched.....14 working days for delivery - I should have my furniture on Friday at the latest!0 -
Thank you DaisyClaire.
I ordered on 8th March, and had the Despatched email on 15th, so I guess I should expect delivery around the beginning of April, do you think?
I emailed halfcost, but have not had a reply, so I'm very grateful for this info.0 -

Thank you so much for this info. I got an email yesterday saying my order was despatched and would be here in 2-3 days, so I planned on staying in tomorrow and Friday waiting, but now it sounds like that may not be a good plan. My items were smallish, though -- two beside tables.
Didn't somebody say that they got a call from the courier the day before delivery? Does anybody know if that is the case? I hope so, as I don't know how you can plan to be home for delivery when you have no idea what day it will come!0 -
No problem all.
They told me that I wasn't the first customer to be misled or complain about the email which states you items have been despatched and will be with you in 2- 3 working days.
Not sure why they don't just change it or add the information somewhere that furniture takes 14 working days...its not hard to change a generic email...but, fingers crossed its all ironed out now.
Come on Wonderbetty......have you got your TV unit??0
