Its really as simple as I believe he is, going by his answer ... its not something we in N.I. would gladly pay for, there may be a few other English friends on here aswell.
And now we'll never really know ...
Cheers
We quite happily pay an annual permit for the forests, Carnfunnock country park and full family membership to the National Trust. Between these three we are never short of somewhere to go at the weekends. The cost for all three is cheaper than a couple of family meals out and much better value.. We aren't English either!0 -

thats a strange thing to say! why would english people be any more likely or not likely to pay than us?! the parks are lovely for a walk and great to let kids run around in and have picnics etc. I know i said i have yet to pay but thats because me and OH always went in the evenings or out of season, we have a little one now and would be quite happy to pay admission for a day out with him.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

What a totally stupid comment - doubt if you would appreciate a forest - do you ever get out?
No I am not English, Northern Ireland born and bred and quite happy to contribute to the upkeep of our forests by paying an admission fee if requested!
'Stupid' thats your opinion, and I'm fine with that ... I live in a forest, and go walking in it every day ... costs me nothing ... so I believe its not me thats ''stupid''0 -

Its a great place, and well worth £4 for a day or even an hour ... you pay nearly that for an hour in most city centre car parks and what do you get to look at there ?
If you want to gio for a half hour walk then leave the car up by the road or in the village, or if you are really tight for cash then I am sure Dessie (the warden) will let you in for half an hour free to look around.0 -
I totally agree with Kidshorsesdogs-we live quite close to Gosford Forest Park ( we use it every week) and are quite happy to pay for an annual permit, which gives us access to any forest park in Northern Ireland.9 visits or more to a forest park and we have exceeded the cost of the annual permit. We are also members of the National Trust, which gives us access to properties in Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK and again with regular use you soon get value for money!Heather::hello:0

How wude!.........The stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0 -

Al didn't call you stupid, he said your claim, that only the English would [strike]be stupid enough[/strike] happy to pay into a forest, was stupid. It's two different things. G'wan yeh grumpy [strike]tight @rsed[/strike] big glipe, admit it, it was a pretty silly thing to sayThe stupid things you do, you regret... if you have any sense, and if you don't regret them, maybe you're stupid. - Katharine Hepburn0
