National Express coach from Digbeth at 4:15am gets into Gatwick for 8:05am. If like me that doesn't leave much time for traffic round the M25 it would need to be 2:20am gets in at 6:05am.
I would try and get a cheap hotel the night before if money allows!!!0 -
Get a train before 6:30am from Birmingham to London, cross London to Victoria then train to Gatwick0

Use National Express :-D0

Why can't I write a three-letter post? Brevity is the soul of wit, after all.0 -
Get a text ticket from Birmingham Snow Hill to Marylebone with Chiltern Rail for as little as £5, tube across to Victoria and then the Gatwick Express from there.

Ordinary trains from Victoria to Gatwick are cheaper than Gatwick Express and very frequent.0 -

There used to be a direct train but I have a bad feeling the Department of Transport have done away with it. You could go via Watford Junction, which would avoid travelling through London on the tube.Next post follows in a moment ...0
