I think as every where we all want 5* hotels for 2* prices
we have just got back from london 2 nights (fri/sat) 4* grange fitzrovia hotel including breakfast and 2 tickets to a westend show (bloodbrothers) for a grand total of £250. We could have found cheaper but for total deal of class location comfort style no arguments from me. Train to euston so all within a decent walk or short taxi ride:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
We have just got back from a 3 night trip to London, stayed at Easyhotel in South Kensington. Cost a total of £109. It is part of Easyjet so very basic bed and bathroom. You pay extra for a window, a wardrobe etc. But very good if you're looking for just someplace to sleep. Think there are 3 or 4 Easyhotels in London so might be worth looking on their website. Our hotel was 5 mins from Earls Court underground so very easy to get to and travel elsewhere from. Also had lots of lovely bars and restaurants nearby. Hth.

we were in london last week, stayed in the Umi hotel in Notting Hill. Got a superior double room for £60 per night via lastminute. The hotel is a stones throw away from the main shopping area of Baywater and about 30 min walk to Oxford Street. Bayswater tube is a 5 min walk away or buses are easy to catch from the bayswater Rd - £3.80 will let you travel on all London buses/trams for that day. The 390 runs 24hrs a day so you can party in town and still get back cheaply and safelyknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0

thanks for all the replies,
I suppose it is just that i haven't been before and that is why i am panicking.. i live in a small town where everything is on the doorstep so i reckon as long as i get enough information before i go to London then i should have a rough idea as to where we are going..
exciting really but scary too... some brilliant hints and tips on here though and i will look at more stuff when i am ready to book a show...0 -
Ah! If you're booking a show, I would agree with one of the above posts and head for the Imperial Hotels in Bloomsbury as they are walking distance from the theatres and in a lovely part of the city.hostertlady wrote: »

Have a look at THIS link - 2-for-1 at selected Holiday Inn, Express by Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels. Bear in mind that you would have to book your stay in blocks of 2 nights but it is never a problem to keep the same room for your entire stay. I used this deal to book a hotel in Bucharest for 6 nights, booking it in 3 blocks of 2 and it worked a treat. This space has been intentionally left blank0

Yes, I wouldn't get bogged down looking for a hotel in Marylebone. Marylebone is just a small section of the West End, and you could reasonably stay anyway in the West End, or indeed anyway else in Central London, and not actually be that far from Marylebone. Transport links are excellent. In fact, transport links are so good that you could even stay out somewhere like Greenwich and get an overground train into Charing Cross in 20 mins.Yeah, whatever. I'm a grown up, I can take it...0
