2 kids in a car and driving all the way there....
hmm, y'know, some things in life are worth shopping around for, to find a better price, and some things just shouldn't be done just to save a few bob.
Keep looking, and see if you can get cheaper flights to hire a car somewhere less touristy in Spain then drive down from there.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

just had a quick look - https://www.flyglobespan.com fly from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen to MAlaga - to fly up to Scotland takes about an hour.
Fly midweek from Scotland to MAlaga for the best price - £805 INCLUDING a compact car (fiesta type, bigger than a Ka)
for that price you could afford to add an internal flight from Stansted to Edi or Gla and still be miles cheaper.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I'll refer you to cheapest hotel chains too for details of the villa?0

How about flying to Gibraltar? Really cheap flights available. x0

it's a fantastic landing in Gib - one of the shortest runways in the world... There aren't that many flights a day, so if one is delayed then there won't be an alternative.;)
Might be costlier to hire a car though. Cheap cigs and booze on the way home, though if you stop off in Gib's high street.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Thanks for all the messages.
Easy Jet won the day. The 4 of us for £506, in sociable hours too... Thanks for the Malaga Car tip too, car booked for £200 with 2 car seats.
Will post the villa details when I open my wife's email folder!0 -
