I noticed that the infected file was System Security..... does that mean that it was still on my system even after system restore and all those scans ?!?

you did right in removing it

What it means is that by DOING a system restore, you 'reinfected' your computer!

I always recommend NEVER doing system restores until your sure your computers clean. (And always recommend FULL malwarebytes scans as they check the restore files amongst other things)

Run the FULL SuperAS one next (If you havnt already)

    then ~
Download SPYBOT (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION' ~ make sure TEA TIMER is UNTICKED on installation)
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_spybot_search_destroy/
UPDATE and IMMUNISE (Make sure it reads ZERO unprotected) and SCAN

reboot and post a fresh hijack log

Im (hopefully) expecting it to be something like 'clean' now :p

    Hi

Right, have run full scan with Superanti......... and there were 43 items found (42 adware tracking cookies and 1 trojan) which were quarantined and deleted. Unfortunately I did not get a log of this either before or after reboot.

I have now downloaded Spybot and run a full scan (I couldn't see the part where you said to make sure it reads Zero unprotected). Now this scan has finished, it hasn't given me a log just a list and option to "Fix Selected Problems" These problems are as follows:

    AdRevolver 9 entries / Browser
    Adviva 1 entry / browser
    DoubleClick 2 entries / browser
    HitBox 2 entries / browser
    MediaPlex 4 entries / browser
    Statcounter 2 entries / browser
    Tradedoubler 5 entries / browser
WebTrends Live 1 entry / browser

Do I click on "Fix selected items" ???
