Where to buy maternity wear

I bought quite a bit of stuff during this pregnancy (I was quite minimalist in my last one!) and managed to get hold of quite a few bits in various high street shops in the sales. Topshop had a couple of great sales on so picked up some bargains from there, also Dorothy Perkins, New Look and Red Herring in Debenhams.
I have also invested in a bump band, and it has been great as it has meant I can wear some pre-pregnancy tops still and I don't have a big expanse of bare flesh showing! Think was only about a fiver and you can pick them up in lots of places.
I also scoured ebay, mainly for maternity jeans and have found some real bargains, especially if you look for things listed to end on a weekday in the daytime.0 -
Thank you all very much for your help.
I'm about a size 10 now so I did think about just buying a few tops and jeans and a black trouser a couple of sizes bigger.
Nicki, the Asos link has some lovely things.
Money maker, I had totally forgotten about Ebay and I'll give it a try. I will see you on the Pregnancy thread after I've had my first chat with the Midwife. I wasn't sure what to say really when I got there!
Thanks again everyone.

I love the stuff on here, although a bit pricier. But you would get a good price on ebay after.0 -
Might be worth trying your local www.netmums.com website - all the mums would be local and you could try before you buy - also, might be worth waiting for the sales (depending when the weddings are) there are bound to be some bargins!!!0

I really liked the red herring range in debenhams, although the stuff online looked a bit dowdy, the stuff in store is lovely.0

Exactly what i was going to say. lovely stuff - makes you feel great. I got between 2/3 and 3/4 of the price I paid for it all back selling it on e bay. Find a great pair of maternity jeans (best fit for me were H&M, they fitted even better than the IO ones as I like over bump trousers) and then get a few IO tops and you'll be kitted out. Better to have a few really well made things than lots of cheap stuff that shrinks and stretches out of shape. Then treat yourself to a few IO smart things (the pencil skirt looks wonderful from early to late pregnancy) as does the wrap over dress.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -
Asos maternity stuff is fab - I went out for my 30th in a Lipsy maternity top and I felt great in it, not huge like I thought I would - plus had loads of compliments on it xHSBC = £2200 Overdraft = £500.00 Loan - £11,701Total debt - Dec 09 £14400

h&m are great also do good breastfeeding tops, also ebay good for second hand but i'd be wary of items like jeans/casual trousers/everyday tops that will have been worn day in day out and will have streched a fare bit, i'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 2nd so have to go get the box of materity clothes out of loft, i went for lots of blues and greens and neuturals last time so i could mix and match to make differnt outfits, and spoiled myself with a new bag few new braclets and necklaces that matched my wardrobe, it made me feel a bit better when i had my feeling frumpy bloated beached whale daystwins on board0

I got my favourite maternity clothes from 'Pumpkin Patch' in their sales. The items lasted my whole pregnancy, washed well, felt and looked nice etc and in their sale they were really cheap!
