Where to buy maternity wear

Hi,

I just wondered if anyone knew of the best places to buy maternity wear please?

I'm 28 and due to give birth at the end of Sept so I've got quite a way to go but I'm trying to get prepared.

I am mostly looking for pretty casual clothes but I do have two weddings coming up in my last trimester so if anyone could suggest something a bit posher that would be good, too.

Thanks for your help.

H&M have a reasonably priced range of maternity wear. As do New Look. And Next. Not forgetting mothercare.

  • I bought all mine from next. H&M didnt fit me at all dorothy perkins was just all dated.

I bought a lovely black and white spotty maternity dress from m&s for a wedding & christening, a fab 2 sizes up from normal smock style silk dress from H&M for funky nights out with leggings, and unfortunatly had 3 winter funerals so went 2 sizes bigger from my normal dress size with a black stretchy number laura ashley with a big scarf.

I sold eveything on ebay. Bizarly i sold the one outfit to a man for his own use !!!!

I agree - try ebay and freecycle as people often list bundles of clothes which haven't been worn too much.
My friend also got LOADs of babygros etc from freecycle too to keep costs down.

Don't forget, that you may get away with going up a size or two, depending on what size you are now. I got a couple of lovely tops in Evans at the Trafford Centre and wore them during the summer.

I had a couple of weddings to attend when very pregnant. I bought a gorgeous dress from http://www.cravematernity.co.uk/CraveMaternitySite/pages/home/default.asp
It wasn't cheap, but they sell well on ebay too, as they are usually only worn once or twice :D

  • Vertbaudet has had a lot in their sale but the sale is nearly over so there is not much left and it is in odd sizes. I received my first order from them the other day and had annouling ordered all the wrong sizes but they were good collecting the returns the next day. I found sizing at h&m to be tiny. I got the best new look mat jeans from new look off eBay.
