help me please with problem

I would be grateful if someone can help me please.

Few weeks ago i bought Toshiba netbook NB 100.

I was using wireless internet and had no problem.

But since yesterday it keep saying that wireless network connection is not connected. I right clicked on it as it says but another menu comes up saying Chose a wireless network. Now then there is no list to choose from. It says "windows cannot configure the wirelss connection use that software. If you want to use window to configure this wirelss connection click change advance setting, click the wirelsss network tab and then select the check box labeled 'use window to congfigure my wirelss setting'

When i press advance setting it gives anthoter menu and i am lost from here.

At one stage it also tel me to put SSID number.

Where could i obtain this number as i have lost it.

Also i am D-link DIR 635 version 1.0 Wireless Router.

Thanks in advanced.

  • Im not a techie so i apologise if this doesnt help

Start / Connect to / Show all connections

Right click "Wireless network connection" / Properties

click the wirelsss network tab and then select the check box labeled "use window to congfigure my wirelss setting"

Go back to your internet page and then click configure internet or something like that and windows should be able to restore it.

If go to control panel and click "Run" then type services.msc. You will get a list, scroll down to "windows zero configuration" and make sure it has started.

I had to do this when i had this problem, it could also be just a blip with your router and may correct itself.

SSID is the referance name given to your router and can usually be found on the back (asking for this means it cant find the router - i think)
