help needed please, I am attempting to connect a STB to my analogue dvd recorder, I have a TV without integrated Freeview but have been using a STB on that to get Freeview. Also have a VCR ! All I want is to be able to record on VCR still, record on HDD or Disc Freeview channels, don't need to be able to record one whilst watching another channel coz TV set-up is in another room that is too cold to use generally! So have two Freeview boxes available, one VCR, one TV (two scart sockets) and a VCR with one SCART and one aerial lead ( I guess I need a splitter also!) Any help or advice with this would be really appreciated before I chuck the lot through the window !!

Cheers spud
ok ~
Video ~ plug scart into scart 2 on tv. Scart 2 on your tv will 'hopefully' have a signal coming OUT (Meaning you can set the video to record AV and it will record whatevers on the screen). On the other hand, your video may be next to useless with it only having the one scart. Have to see how that bit goes
Plug AV1 of freeview into AV2 of recorder. Plug AV1 of recorder into AV1 of tv
Set recorder AND freeview to output RGB SCART (If it doesnt already)
To record freeview simply record off AV2. To view freeview it would probably be best to switch the recorder off (Though it probably can be viewed with it switched on)
Hope you understand this

Thanks for quick reply, have tried this but I don't even know where to put the aerial in and the second freeview (old PACE box) I cannot see where to connect that or how. Sorry to exasperate !0

you dont need the 2nd freeview box (do you??)
The main aerial goes to your freeviewbox, out that into your video (And out that and into your tv if you wish to do so but isnt required):idea:0 -

Why do you need two Freeview boxes. Just connect your aerial to the Freeview box that you have connected up. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I bought a second freeview as from reading forums I understood that to record digital channels on my analogue dvd recorder i would need a freeview connected up to that as well as another to my tv so as to enable that to be freeview also. Perhaps i have misunderstood0
