lowell portfolio I/mackenzie hall/three uk
Ive just recieved a letter from Lowell portfolio I/ Mackenzie Ltd stating that theyve purchased a debt of mine from 3 uk(mobile phone company) and stating that i owe them £25.68.
I was fuming and rang Lowell about this although i kept calm on the phone to them.
The problem is, im addament i dont owe 3 anything. Ive checked my credit report which shows the account as settled on 22/08/2008 with the last 12 months of payments with a green box (i use experian) which means payments are up to date.
I informed Lowell of this and theyve asked me to send them a copy of my credit report showing the account as settled and not defaulted.
Im wondering if this is ok to do,and what else can i do to prove that i no longer owe anything to 3uk.
Im absolutely fuming with 3uk as theyve not sent me any letters regarding a debt(probably because there isnt one!!) and have just passed it to a debt collecting agency.
Any help with this matter would be much appreciated and any contact details for someone at 3uk i could complain too would again be very much appreciated.

You dont need to send them a copy of your credit file as they can easily get access to this anyway, and probably will soon enough when they record a default on your file regarding this so called 3 debt.
The onus is on those muppets to prove the debt not for you to prove you have no debt.
They also have to prove ownership of the debt to you, as anyone could write to you claiming you owe them money when most of the time you probably don't.
Check out http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/
They have plenty of experience there for helping deal with lowells.
Good luck, but don't worry!:D0 -
Ive just printed off a copy of my credit report and everything is shown as settled and satisfactory, surly they can just add a default to an account thats settled can they.
Bit worried now as i really dont want a default mark on an otherwise clean credit report0 -
Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.0
