  • Glad i could help some people get some cheap flights!

Although interestingly, if you go to 'manage my booking' on the BA website using your Hong Kong surname / reference, the option to cancel / refund is allowed.

I have a flight to Washington in January using BA in discounted economy and that option to cancel / refund is not permitted.

Maybe they hope we will cancel our flights??? ;)

Just a quick note for those that haven't been before and may be tempted...

Don't try and sneak through the "nothing to declare" lane on returning to the UK. They *know* why you've been to Hong Kong and they know darned well that the chances are you've been indulging in a bit of purchasing... We once saw a portly lady trying to go through the green channel whilst the queues were 10 deep at the red channel. Being tall, I could see over the divider and they took her case to pieces, finding 2 cameras, a car stereo, a camcorder and numerous other articles:
    Customs: "What are these madam?"
Lady: "Oh, they're mine, I took them over there so they wouldn't get stolen."
Customs: "Did you shrink-wrap them too, so they wouldn't get dusty?"
Lady: "Oh I only bought them recently and haven't taken them out of their packaging yet"
Customs: (trying to suppress a smile) "So why are they in a bag marked 'Lucky Electronics, Nathan Road' then?"
Lady: (Who doesn't know when to give up) "I, er, just put them in that bag when I was packing to come back yesterday"
Customs: "I think you'd better come with us..." (snaps on rubber glove...)

Honestly... ANY excuse you can think of, they've heard it before. Get your bargains, try and be a bit creative when prompted for "market value" of the goods (but not TOO creative!) and pay your tax. You'll still get a bargain and, more to the point, you'll get home with your goods...

Have a great time, all of you who managed to get tickets. It's an absolutely wonderful place. Get on the Star Ferry as soon as you can (at night is best) then just sit back with your mouth open in amazement!

For those in the know, can a single traveller book more than one block of three nights at the same or another hotel? Is it in the rules to just book another three at another hotel? Thanks for help.

OH MY GOD - thank you so much mcgi6ah2 for your eagle eyed bargain.

Now not only are the flights fantastic but the hotel so cheap also. Didnt manage to snap a free one but got a massive discount at the Excelsior which was reccommended to me anyway. Am VERY happy.

    Thanks so much!

Seconded! Or for a fantastic view of the city at night, take the Peak tram - absolutely awesome view of the whole place.
  • Wow, what a great offer!

Damn, If only I found this site a few days earlier :(

  • What were your dates??

I'll be looking at PL for hotels

The dates were 3rd Feb to 8th Feb for 5 nights. I tried through priceline.com.hk also, but they weren't accepting any offers that I put in so I would advise you to try the .co.uk one.

Having said that, I would recommend going for the BA hotel offers if you haven't already seen that :) I was a little overeager to book the hotel.
