The windy rep put me off too. I think we'll see a lot more routes dropped by the cheapo airlines this year. Big articles last year in the papers with 2nd home owners complaining that Ryanair had dropped routes and they now had to drive miles to an airport. Michael O'Leary, chief exec:

"Please don't ask me to feel sorry for rich people who have second homes in France. We don't have an obligation to go on carrying them to their destinations for ever and a day. If routes don't work, we won't hang around."

It will be interesting to see what happens in the coming year with homes abroad. Things must be getting tough as I notice Spanish property companies have started spamming MSE recently.

Chav free it may be but I bet it's hardly a barrel of laughs over there what with you visiting and preaching to them all about the financial armageddon

all bases are covered and have been for the last two years....this recession will pass me by....i am not fluent enough to explain to them in Spanish the word *ucked.:rotfl:

..prices are falling fast out there but still have a long way to go....
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

I have just spent the week out in fuerteventura and have never ever seen a holiday place so empty..as a few on here know we spend about 5 months of the year out there.
It was really bad just before xmas but we went last week and the place looks like a ghost town.

So, not much chance of getting a sh@g if i go out there next week?
