I have just spent the week out in fuerteventura and have never ever seen a holiday place so empty..as a few on here know we spend about 5 months of the year out there.
It was really bad just before xmas but we went last week and the place looks like a ghost town.
One night in the main high street of Corralejo we counted about twenty people walking down it,
Last year there would of been thousands and thousands of people here..
Everyone was banking on the half term break for things to pick up but on saturday when the uk flights came in they were half empty and no noticable rise in tourists....
It looks like the people of the uk really are going to butlins this year....bless them..:rotfl:

It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

the worst thing is ..the Irish piled in like there was no tomorrow and then all of a sudden ryanair have pulled out of the place and they are all stuck unless they want to fly to Madrid and then from there to the islands......they have been caught out big time..
The airline will leave at the end of January 2009.
Ryanair has announced it is pulling out of Fuerteventura at the end of January in a move which it’s estimated will leave 5,000 ticket holders without their flight. The company will give full refunds to those who have purchased tickets for after the date. However the airline will not cover any lost hotel or car hire costs.

That's what I never understood about people that bought in some far flung places. They'd be on the telly in those Place in the Sun programmes ".... and low cost airline XYZ are now flying to ..." and I'd think "yeah, and can stop just as quickly". I'd want somewhere that I could get to under my own steam in a reasonable period of time.0

The bathroom maybe? I'm stalking you tonight, there's no one else on.PasturesNew wrote: »I'd want somewhere that I could get to under my own steam in a reasonable period of time.0 -
