I have a pile of stuff to put on Trade Me (our local Ebay style website);
I must NOT spend anymore money buying junk food from work.
I think two challenges are enough for me this week :rolleyes:If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Can I join in - even though its Tuesday? Hope so!
My challenges this week:
1. Make lunch every day for work (succeeded yesterday and have today's waiting in the fridge already!)
2. Locate at least 1 £2 coin without spending any money I would not have otherwise spent.
3. Get some stuff listed on ebay (did my very first item last night - please tell me it gets less confusing the more you do!)
4. Spend no more than £150 on my weekend away this weekend (including accommodation).
Good luck everyone!Highest debt - £24500

I agree with you. Always best to go for the best possible and most well paid job and move up from there. Why be a pessimist and think it's not possible without trying first?

Update...
* sorting out this long and tedious battle with Barclays over PPI - ongoing
* getting some ink for the printer, thus enabling me to print & post letters requesting details of charges applied to bank account/ credit card/ store card - done today!
* have a least one non-spend day - not so far this week... tomorrow is another day
* save at least another 3 £2 coins - er nope, not so far
* pay the contents of my penny jar into the bank and make a huge dent in the outstanding balance on a store card with a daft APR - done it! hooray! paid it all off
* organise and pay for my holiday - not so far!
* and spend a max of £20 on a food shop - spent £29 oooops... but should last untile end of the month...Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
How did you all do, here is my update:
My challenges for this week are:
1. Sell more items on ebay. (Put about 6 items on, many up on Tuesday)
2. Put all change I have collected up into my credit union account. (Not Done)
3. Look into new ways to make money. Not sure what yet. I always have more con's than pro's when I come up with ideas. (Had interview delivering leaflets, will know if I get it on Tuesday)0 -
Update:
Again, take food and drink for 6 hour train journey (quite a commute hey! long story ) to avoid pricey food but maybe allow a coffee Took sandwiches, apple and drink with me, bought coffee and crisps. Did quite well I thought so 8/10
Only buy absolute essentials foodwise to make up for last week. Am staying with parents from wednesday onwards so shouldn't be too hard! Only bought milk so 10/10 :j
Keep checking to see if there will be another 5p listing day on ebay any time soon! Kept checking so 10/10 but no luck yet
Contribute at least £4 to my £2 coin savings (without spending just to get change ). Added £4 (so 10/10) thanks to the lovely lady at tesco
:j So that is 38/40 in total, a good week :j
Am off to post my challenges for next week on the next thread ...Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003

* To not go overdrawn - this is the last week before payday. Might be tough as we've had my son's birthday today and spent a little more than planned! Well, looks like I haven't quite managed this -will probably be around £30 o/d
* To ensure my DH opens his Halifax Mini cash ISA, so that we can invest this year's allowance before April! Yippee - he did this yesterday - with a bit of gentle encouragement
* To spend as little as possible on food shopping, in order to keep within my budget! Have managed to keep shopping spending well down this month - should be on/around target by end of Feb!
Well, don't think I've done too badly - hopefully should be able to stay on budget for March!20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100
