I only managed two out of four last week! This week:

I shall try to add 1 £2 coin.

I shall order some of the things I need for my small business idea.

I will continue to keep out of Boots!

I will carry on with the spending diary I started 2 weeks ago.

    Good luck everyone!

I need some motivation as I've got the winter blues, so I'd like to post my goals for the week.

    - To get at least four job applications in this week (as long as salary is above my minimum expectation!). I am sick of being unemployed and broke!

    - Research some career ideas (I'm returning to admin work, but would like to train for a new career via distance learning or evening college course, so need admin income to pay course fees.)

    - Get one more £2 coin to get me up to £30 savings.

    - List some more stuff on Ebay, my last listings finished over a week ago. The stuff is sat there waiting to be photographed, but I just keep ignoring it.

    - Do a new meal plan for two weeks.

No offence intendede but if u have been unemplyued for a fair while do you not think your expectations are a bit high? Surely it would be better to get any job possible and then work on getting a better paid job?

  • Thanks again Pixie1 for this thread.
My challenges for this week are:

    1. Sell more items on ebay.
    2. Put all change I have collected up into my credit union account.
    3. Look into new ways to make money. Not sure what yet. I always have more con's than pro's when I come up with ideas.

Have not posted on this thread before, but it seems like a great idea!! My goals for the next week are:

    * To not go overdrawn - this is the last week before payday. Might be tough as we've had my son's birthday today and spent a little more than planned!

    * To ensure my DH opens his Halifax Mini cash ISA, so that we can invest this year's allowance before April!

    * To spend as little as possible on food shopping, in order to keep within my budget!

I'm sorry, but I disagree. Why should I work for minimum wage when I have some qualifications? Would you work for minimum wage? I've told the Job Centre the lowest salary I'm willing to accept and they're happy with that (and it is achievable.) I've been down the temporary agency route and now I want permanent employment.
