End of Pinecone for Mac Users!

Just got email today:

As a member of PineCone Research, you will be asked to participate in studies with a new product picture format. In order to view the new picture format, you will need to use a Windows platform. (Windows 2000/3, WinXP, WindowsVista, or Windows 7)

This will be required for future surveys and will avoid interruption to survey participation.

My operating system is Vista and I received this email. I downloaded the small programme but was unable to do the survey which Pinecone had sent. Tried it later on a laptop with XP running, and it said that I had already completed the survey.

You could look into the dual-boot option, perhaps?

I'm a Windows user but use Firefox as my browser, I've just downloaded their plug in and now I can't use the back button or the refresh button  how very annoying and I don't know how to get rid of the plugin, you would think they would test it on all browsers, loads of people use firefox!

I don't want to download anything either. I use Firefox and don't want any problems with it. Other survey companies seem to send videos no problem, without having to download anything. If enough people don't download it, then perhaps they'll have a rethink..... or even just send us basic surveys.

  • As an aside, be *very* careful with what you install onto your computers.

It may very well contain a 'rootkit' which could/would be used by them for marketing purposes - check the terms and conditions very, very carefully.
