Orange - No warning of excessive charges

I've incurred a bill of £2600 from orange for 1 month on internet for excessive download.
I have expressed my outrage that no warning of such a charge was forthcoming. Surely they are capable of putting this in place.
I'm still awaiting a response for why Orange "can't" (won't) warn of excessive potential charges. my usual monthly is £125.
I had no warning.
Has anybody had similar experience with an ISP?

Were you using it overseas? That can rack up the charges. There was a case recently of someone downloading episodes of their favourite TV progs to their laptop while on holiday and incurring huge costs. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

They are capable of putting it in place but to be honest, a company that has x amount of millions of customers can't 'babysit' each individual one. Certainly in o2 a customer has a credit 'score', as I assume Orange will, and it is this credit score, coupled with your past payment history etc that will determine if your phone gets cut off or not for excessive usage.
So, if your a good payer and have been a customer for a while, your account will most likely go unnoticed.
On the plus side, if this is the first 'offence' at high data charges, then I know that o2 will honour a one time credit, not sure if Orange have the same policy

Would be helpful if you can indicate what your monthly allowance is and what you have actually used (or what they claim you have used). Establish if the billing is correct before you start arguing with them.
Assume this must be on a roaming basis abroad if £2600 is correct billing. No free lunch, and no free laptop
