Looking For most Reliable Broadband Provider, Are Toucan, UK Online or Demon anygood?

hi everyone i'm on standard dial up at the moment and looking to go to 2mb broadband. I'm looking for a decent provider as i will be downloading music and films etc.

I have been looking at a few now and wondered if anyone had any feedback on Toucan, UK Online or Demon???

The all offer unlimited download and are under £25per month. The also come with free connection and modem which is important to me.

Toucan are £16.99, UK online £24.99 and Demon £19.99....Can anyone do better with a good reliable provider???

PLEASE HELP I'm Sooooo Confused???????

  • I personally wouldn't touch Demon with a barge pole.

    Poor connection speeds and reliability and desperately poor after sales customer service via an Indian Call Centre where all the CS reps pretend to be British and give British names to fob you off each time.

    When you try and complain about lack of connection or poor connection, they never call back when they say they will and even when you close the account and put everything in writing, they continue to take money from your account.

    Bitter and twisted from a bad experience with Demon........not me. :mad:

    By the way this was a Demon Business Account not a home one, but the CS is the same. I work for a BIG organisation and you would have thought they wouldn't want to P*** us off considering the amount of business they were jeopardising, but they didn't seem to care.

    I have been with Demon for over 18 months.I had problems when changing
    from their 24.99 tariff to their 19.99 tariff.Once the changeover had been done
    (lost about a week of broadband) everything worked okay.When the broadband
    was running on both tariffs I had no problem at all with the service.
    At moment on 2Meg speed with no limit on what I download.
    So all in all, I am a very satisfied with Demon.
  • I've only read that Toucan are a load of rubbish they are tascali resellers and they use a FUP, Demon i have ready pretty good reviews about.

    I am in the middle of moving BB as well .............. i have moved to AOL becuase there ulimited 1mb service was 6 months @ £14.99 and 6 months @ £17.99.
  • Well i like the look of demon but still dont know enough about them....anyone anymore feedback.

    Otherwise it's Fast4 and V21 which are the same company and they are charging btw £27 and £29.99 per month unlimited.

    Was also thinking of plusnet but heard mixed reports...i'm even more confused now..lol

    I thought it would be easy as i just want unlimited 2mb broadband for downloading music and movies for less than £25 per month with modem and connection....HELP PLEASE!!!!!

  • Gone for demon and it's going live on 21st of this month. Modem came within 48hrs and is now installed and ready to go..!!!

    thought i would drag up a old thread instead of startin a new one, how is demon treatin you, im thinkin of goin with them soon,

    I've changed mine to Zen. I like the idea of monthly contracts and UK based customer Service.

    Another monthly contract one is Newnet.

  • I have been with Demon for about 15 months and not very happy with them.
    I got an email yesterday saying I have had a speed upgrade so I eagerly did a speed test only to find my speed has gone down.
    Not just this though, other things I don't like are Customer Service,frequent dropping of service,no monthly invoice(until I rang them three times),19.99/month(lot cheaper out there now),1 year contract, slow speeds early evenings.
