Any alternatives to BB deals from Martin's weekly email?

I saw the great broadband deals with Plusnet and Be from Martin's weekly email, but I can't get them as I don't live in the right area!
I can only get BT in my area, with no other providers unbundled :-(
I'm currently with AOL paying £14.99 (unlimited downloads) but out of contract, so hoping to find a better deal. Any deals would need to have "unlimited" downloads, or at least 15-20GB per month.
FYI, I have on more than 1 occasion threatened to leave AOL but they've never offered me a better deal! :-(
Thanks in advance

'Threatening' to leave may not be enough. Ask AOL for your MAC code and they'll put you through to disconnections, aka retentions. They're the people with the real authority to discount your offer.
Even if your bluff fails and they send your MAC code, you don't have to use it-it expires after a month. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes I've also been given a MAC code in the past, which indeed did expire.0 -
Then looks like they are aware that you have nowhere else to go... There are certainly better deals than £14.99pm on non LLU providers, but not if you need 15-20GB per month. To put this in perspective, that's about 4 times the average broadband user's usage.
Why not try the MAC code route again and see if you get another person at AOL who might be more amenable? Nothing to lose really. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I don't think I've ever used 15GB in one month, but I just put that as I wouldn't want to go above any limits.
Yeah, I might try the MAC code route again, but I seem to recall that any better deals involved getting AOL talk, which I can't have right now as I'm tied in to a BT calls contract until April I think, so I may be best to leave it until that expires.
In the meantime, if anyone comes across a great non-LLU offer, please let me know :-)0 -
Is it possible to check your actual usage?-no point in paying for bandwidth you don't use. My ISP has a control panel which monitors and records the usage and alerts me when I am going over. I get 6GB per month inclusive. About once or twice a year I creep over this and just pay another £1 per GB for that month. Better than paying more every month. No free lunch, and no free laptop
