Do remember - that 1st Class is only useful if it is under a certain dimention/weight. I'm guessing due to the cost it was to post, Standard Parcel was the best way. Even though it isnt '1st Class' its still quick. So I don't think you should get your back up because of the method of posting.

<<-- I know because i've sold alot on eBay recently.

but it would have been faster had the seller posted on the agreed day
this was asked before purchase so was really a condition of sale

    So lets get this right.....

You pay monday, item gets sent on wednesday, you receive by Friday

And you moaning and discussing bad feedback???

Your only issue here should be not receiving the item in the described condition

Items posted via stanard parcels take 3-5 working days and was probably used because the item you purchased weighed over 2kg (£6.85)??

Much ado about nothing this thread
    Peace will come to me

The date agreement was hardly set in stone with the question from the Buyer...

"If I pay Sunday or Monday"

Whos to say the seller viewed his Ebay after purchase was made on "Monday" before the Post Office shut?

Not every Ebay seller sits watching & waiting for sales all day zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    the seller agreed
then after failing that lied they had posted the item on tuesday when infact they didnt post till wednesday
so lying and not posting on the agreed timescale is fine?

If the payment wasnt received until Monday, the chances of getting it posted on Monday are slim.

If the buyer was in such haste to receive the item sooner then why didnt they simply pay Sunday?

Maybe more of a misunderstanding than a lie?

To pay for an item monday and receive it via standard parcels by Friday is good

    This subject is just trivial

SP = standard parcels - the Post Office say allow 3 working days for delivery.

Did the listing state postage via Standard Parcels or some other method ?

Seller can only leave you possitive feedback or non at all, so you can be honest in yours if you feel let down (I agree with Custardy that the fact that they said it would be posted on Monday and you purchased on that basis, that you have cause for complaint).

The buyer received the item 5 days after ordering it, that is pretty good going so I don't really see what all the moaning is about. The seller may have got confused with another item that was sent on Tuesday, hence the 'lie'.

The issue here is not really with the postage, the seller sent it within the time suggested by eBay, the real issue is the fact that the item is not as described.

You ignore all the other relevant facts which are in this thread.

    * specifically asked seller if I bought on "Sun night" or "Mon morning" when would it be posted? Seller replied "MONDAY"
*specifically asked seller "does it have part XYZ fitted"? Seller replied "yes" (it didn't)
*Asked seller on Wed morning (having recieved no communication from him) "Has it been posted and when was it posted?" Seller replied "yes, Tuesday"

Item arrived with a postage label stating Wednesday.

You don't seem to realise that for some people time is important, and having told him that speed of dispatch was important to me and him telling me it would go on Monday, that was the reason I bought the item and I can reasonably expect him to keep his word and not lie to me when I had to chase him up.

Payment was made minutes after ordering on Mon Morning. Why would he not have recived payment until too late for post office closing time on Monday?

Then you don't really understand that if say you were to sell something on Ebay, and you had a customer saying time was important, and asking you when you would send something if it was bought. You promise to send the same day (Mon in my case). If you were then to not send that item until the buyer chased you up, that is not "pretty good" by any stretch of the imagination, that is "pretty bad".
the real issue is the fact that the item is not as described.
As long as you define "as described" to include that it would be posted on the day it was promised to be and that the part which was asked about was included as it was promised to be.... then I can agree with you.
  • I'd be tempted to give bad feedback, it didn't come with what you thought it did and it came later than you were told.

If we were asked to post specifically then we'd either say yes and do it, or no and risk losing a sale. Getting it quick is not the point- it wasn't posted as soon as it should be, and RM picked up the slack.
Not really fair on you Wig but I don't know if paypal and ebay will see the postage issue, but the wrong part they will take your side on.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
