posted late

I wanted something quickly, asked seller on Sunday if I ordered it Sunday or Monday Morning when would he post it. He replied it would be posted on Monday 16th

I ordered it on Monday morning, and did not hear anything, concerned on Wednesday I asked him to confirm it had been sent and when. He said he had posted it on Tuesday afternoon. (me annoyed but what can you do)

Arrived today Friday and the postage label says SP 18/02/09

is SP second class parcels ?
and does the label definately mean it was posted on Wednesday?

I also asked if had a particular part attached, and he said it did. But it has arrived without it attached, I will have to work around this now using a part from another Piece!

I think I should tell him I'm annoyed with his "service". As I mentioned in my other thread, ebay has not got rid of the blackmail system that forces buyers to not to leave greys or reds on sellers, So I'm probably going to be in the position of having to leave green or grey because this seller still has not given me feedback.

If he used the Royal Mail 'do-it-yourself' on-line postage then it dates the following day, as it gives you that time to actually get it posted afterwards.

You can tell this as it says it was produced this way on the printed label

  • as sellers can no longer leave buyers negative feedback, where is the feedback blackmail now? I don't understand.

That helps a lot, but was not mentioned when I wrote my earlier thread on feedback.

I'd like to point out, that I won't leave a red unless he is unwilling to resolve the issue at his own expense. (postage was £9).

The postage label looks like one printed by Royal mail, does not look anything like an online one.

If the auction detailed the part that was missing you have grounds for raising a 'significantly not as described' dispute, if the seller is not going to make it right. Perhaps a partial refund to allow for the missing part to be sourced? Alternatively, if it's an oversight they may just send it on. Try asking them what they are prepared to offer. Keep it nice, you always have the SNAD to fall back on.

It looks very similar to this one except it says SP instead of the '2nd'

I'm actually more annoyed about the late postage and the lying that it had been posted on Tuesday when he hadn't posted it at all, and the not posting it first class after he had lied to me, and promised it would be posted on Monday.

The missing part is an inconveinience. And I may be able to use it as an excuse for a return of goods, (even if I have to pay postage) should the part actually prove to be completly useless to me - which is a possibility. Slightly underhand of me but his error has given me the excuse to to use.
  • You haven't specifically said if he agreed to send it 1st class?
Telling him to post it fast isn't the same as getting him to post it by a supposedly faster method :)
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

As said above, SP is standard parcel service.

No, but he lied or forgot (which is still not good after I asked him) when he said it would be posted on Monday, then he lied when he said on Wed it had been posted the day before.

I was happy with the rate of postage if it was posted on Monday as he said it would be. As he knew he was lying, he should have stepped up to the plate, apologised on Wednesday and said he would post it straight away in first class, it's just good manners to have done so.

Do remember - that 1st Class is only useful if it is under a certain dimention/weight. I'm guessing due to the cost it was to post, Standard Parcel was the best way. Even though it isnt '1st Class' its still quick. So I don't think you should get your back up because of the method of posting.

<<-- I know because i've sold alot on eBay recently.
