i tried that ive never used word pad before but i selected the text and saved as RTF and when i closed it and reopended it it was blank ???
is MS publisher 2002 still quite current? ive just looked on ebay and seen its either that or the 2007 version on sale, so would using my old 2002 version cause me too many problems when designing for print??Mortgage at start of MFW £101416.74(27yrs)

When you say you've "downloaded a font" what exactly did you do? A font is a specific file, which you could forward to your designers .... but I don't think you've downloaded a font file.
Could you explain what you did and we can either work with that or suggest something different. How about a link to what it is you want to save?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
Also, remember some fonts are copyrighted. If you are using the font for your company logo make sure you wont be in breach of copyright.0

Why not take a screenshot and save that as a jpg?
I use Gadwin PrintScreen which is free and works on Vista.
Once installed launch PrintScreen. A little camera icon will appear bottom right near the clock. Right click on it and select Properties.
Set the Source as 'rectangular area' and the Output as 'Ciopy Capture Area to File'. Tick the box that says 'Ask for the file name after capturing' and make sure the path (location) where it's going to save the file is correct. Be default it will be a new folder called 'Print Screen Files' in your My Documents folder. On the Image tab make sure it's set to jpeg as the output and change the jpeg quality to 100%.
Once the settings are right then put whatever you want to capture on the screen. Press the Prnt Scrn button -it's top right near F12 on most computers. A little instruction bubble will appear to tell you what to do. You will be using the mouse to select a rectangle around the text you want to be a jpg. Once you are happy that the image is correct then double click anywhere in the square to finish. You will now see the capture in a new window. If you are happy then select 'continue output'. You will be asked for the file name you want. Once you've saved it you should have a new jpg in your folder containing the image you selected.
If you need any more help then please ask.0 -

Once downloaded , unzip the file
Now go to control Panel | Fonts
Click File | Install New Font
Browse to the folder you've unzip and click ok
If you want the printers to use the file they will need the ttf file that you have downloaded
Just send them a copy of the zipped file.0 -

aaah.. the wonder of dafont, i love that site...
you need some image editing software, where you can start with a new file, and type, and then save as, Photoshop is what most people will use but that is expensive.
also, for printers, they'll probably prefer a TIFF, as it isn't compressed, and then you need to make sure it is 300dpi, rather than the standard 72dpi.0 -
I've checked this font and whilst the site says:The fonts presented on this website are their authors' property, and are either freeware, shareware, demo versions or public domain. The licence mentioned above the download button is just an indication. Please look at the readme-files in the zips or check the indicated author's website for details, and contact him/her if in doubt. If no author/licence is indicated that's because we don't have information, that doesn't mean it's free.
Is there a text file downloaded with the TTF file that says if you can use it free of charge?
I've searched on the web and found this thread which is disputing the font you want to use and suggesting it is based on a copyrighted font. I doubt you'd get involved in this unless you are using it for something really really prominent but your printer may be more cautious.0
