Back in the old days when cars ran on 4 star and seatbelts were often an optional extra there was a little pull out thingy called a choke, you pulled it out before starting the car and it would provide extra fuel and slowly pull itself back in as extra fuel was only needed during start up, by putting her bag handle on it the choke wouldn't be able to go back in and therefore the car would be using extra fuel for the whole journey

I think that's all correct (please note I'm technically too young to know this so forgive me any inconsistencies)

As the engine warms up it would more than likely make the mixture 'too rich' and the car would not just use too much fuel, it would run like sh*t

In America, the number of cup holders in a car is one of its main selling points. Apparently it's often one of the first things a potential buyer will ask about.

Do they have 'doughnut holders' too? :p

    Only in police cars. ;)

And they spell it "donut", which is irritating beyond belief.

The one that really gets me is the word "niche", which they pronounce "nitch".

The first time I heard someone say it, I had to ask my fiancée "what the hell's a nitch?".
