Broadband access from within hospital accomodation

I live in an institution with a BT line ( I know because my AOL dials through BT freephone numbers) However I have to dial 9 in front of access number. Now I have come to be sick of Dial up and want to go Broadband

Will having to dial 9 before the phone line make it difficult for me to get phone access.

Considering I am living in a Hospital ( I work here) , will I have to take special permissions from the admin (unlike dialup where you simply plug your computer and get on with it).

Yes the line will have to be enabled for ADSL and it belongs to the hospital so you'll need to get authority for that.

Plus it's not a simple case of dialling an extention - to be honest I'm not that it'd work on a phone extention - but it would if the hospital fitted a wireless router probably.
